Koshe Kosha Kotlata Restaurant Review
Koshe Kosha has all to offer classic authentic bengali cuisine with its unique menu and the art put across the wall portrays an intensely splendid bengali culture. The collection of rich bengali literature, novels, gramaphone and the paintings of old Kolkata adds up vintage vibes with a feel of Kolkata. Kolkata trip without savor of traditional bengali food is incomplete so here is Koshe Kosha popular in this located at Ripon Street near Park Street, this was my first restaurant in Kolkata and it did stand up to the reviews and popularity heard.

My experience at Koshe Kosha
Mangsho Kosha
The famous specialty or say a signature dish of Koshe Kosha is Mangsho kosha a must try food and honestly I did never have this tasty mutton ever. Mangsho Kosha with amazing blend of spices and the mutton pieces were so tender which did easily get cut by spoon and melted in mouth, a rich taste. It takes 4-6 hours to cook without usage of water and believe me no matter if this fact was known or not one can find out it might have taken a lot of effort in getting this. The color of this dish was so dark and intense, usually we dont get to see this color of the outcome of any mutton gravy. I specifically who donot eat mutton and very rare that i like it, i simply did enjoy this.

Bhetki Fry
Had a good start with Bhetki fry, a well popular snack from Kolkata. If in kolkata it is must to try fish specially its famous bhetki fish fry, a fish fillet well marinated, coated with bread crumbs and deeply fried. It was super cruncy with a moreish taste at every bite and added a bonus taste when had it with Kasundi at Koshe Kosha

llish Bhapa
llish or say hilsa fish of all varieties always succeeds in winning the hearts of bengalis and llish bhapa is considered to be auspicious at every occasion for bengalis. I did enjoy this dish with steamed rice and a perfect combination it was. llish bhapa is coated with mustard paste and the name itself explains it is cooked over steaming.

Aam pora Shorbot & Ghondhoraj Ghol
Aam pora shorbot just like aam panna is a must try at Koshe Kosha, it had tangy taste topped up with smoky aroma. Aam pora shorbot is made by roasting raw mangoes. Well heard alot about Gondhoraj Ghol i did try it in Koshe Kosha and it was just ok. The name Gondhoraj Ghol comes from Gondhoraj Lemon found in Bengal also known as King Lime, this drink more like buttermilk
is with infusion of this lime and hence has got the name.
