Permission changes Android 11

Permission Changes in Android 11

The reveals in the past versions have been on keen focus on security mainly the permissions and here in Developer preview 3 i could see Auto revoke feature added up and also a new option with Allow all the time permission.

Auto revoke app permissions

This enhanced one-time permissions are certainly an excellent security feature. Toggling this feature would cut off the app permission if they aren't used. For people like me who install some apps and forget about it completely, here we are on more secure level. Auto revoke app permissions are available in App permissions under settings which is to be enabled/disabled manually from settings. Well, we aren't yet sure about the period or how many months it would take to cut off the permission of a app if not used.

Allow all the time permissions

There is one new option added now in the runtime permissions -Allow all the time permissions. We are now provided with one more option added up in permissions dialog with the text to provide with the specific permission for the app throughout. To grant this permission you need to click on the Allow in Settings link provided in the first option to navigate to settings screen and and allow it thereafter.
