Native Screen Recording in Android 11
Android 11 with Developer preview releases have come up with interesting bunch of new changes and fortunately native screen recorder in handsets is back, we have seen this feature making its way till the beta release in Android 10 but could not make it through the final release and for few reasons Google got it disabled in the final build. The screen recorder is here with the Android 11 quick settings toggle.
I have got the Developer preview 3 release in my emulator and while going through this feature i could find the options to record audio too but at the moment this option failed and doesn't seems to be live yet, so either the option could be removed or get fixed over the time in the new releases. We hope unlike Android 10, it makes it way to the final release in Android 11.
How to get the screen recorder work in Android 11
1. Tap the screen recorder provided in the quick settings toggle.2. A warning dialog gets prompted to start the recording, the dialog holds two options "Record audio" and "Show touches" on screen with the functionality to enable/disable it.
3. Tap on start, the recording starts with the respective icon in the status bar, also the recording details with timing and stop option gets added in the notification tray.
4. Click on Tap to stop from the notification and the recording stops.
5. The complete recording shortcut is presented just like a screenshot yet again in the notification with the option to either share or delete it.
6. You can either directly share the recording from your notification tray or tap on it to view and share it from the option provided at the bottom of preview, its shared as mp4 file.
