Screen Pinning locks a certain app. If you are irritated with always getting back button pressed by you and get paused up with the important app/screen you are working with or say it getting closed then this can truly get you a big relief. It when enabled can lock your device so the person using it can only get access to the app you have pinned and handed over to. It came into picture from Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Why would you need screen pinning ?

• It seems annoying when anyone asks your mobile say a friend asked for it to make a call to someone and peeps into all your personal stuffs like chatting, photos, mails etc.., its very useful in such scenarios to save you from this by just pinning your caller screen.
• If you are in middle of some work or busy with some screen say you or your kid is playing some game and its always that the back screen gets pressed and the game gets closed on which your kid keeps on calling you to open it back so here you go with just pinning the game app.
• When your little kids eat only when you give your mobile to them to play with and in this scenario you get little worried if they take it up and mess it by deleting any of your files or it could be anything on mobile from which you want your kid to stay away so you can just pin one app and get relieved with giving it to your kid.

How to pin the Screen?

Step 1: Open the settings screen
Step 2: Under setting screen you would find security option just click on it
Step 3: Click on Screen Pinning which you find after clicking security and then turn on.
Step 4: Open the screen you want to pin down and click on overview/recent button and then you can see a pin icon which you have to press and confirm pinning the screen

How to unpin the Screen?

To unpin the pinned screen you have to hold both back and overview button and the screen lock of your mobile occurs.
If the screen lock is already there on your mobile then while unpinning  you will be directed to the lock screen where you have to enter the password or pin or else if there is no screen lock then
there will be no restriction and you can directly unpin your screen.

Note : If you do not provide any screen locks pattern or set the security as swipe then you will be asked for the option as "Ask for pin when unpinning" while using screen pinning.

Things you need to know when screen is pinned

• Notifications are restricted so that the person using your mobile cannot see it.
• Messages are restricted  i.e you wont be getting any calls till the time your screen is pinned so that person using your mobile cannot see your personal chats and SMS.
• Calls are restricted not even missed calls and there would be no record in the call logs as well.
