Pamban Bridge at Rameshwaram

Pamban Bridge - Oldest and Second Largest Bridge

Rameshwaram ("Rama's Lord") is one of the four pilgrimage places, Char Dham of India. This beautiful island has always been in spotlight for its unique mix of history, paralleled beauty, mystery, myth then be it on the Ramanathaswamy Temple, cyclone at Dhanushkodi town, Ramasetu/Adam's bridge, oldest and second largest bridge, marvel architectured temples, teerthams, sheer religious faith, abode of Shri APJ Abdul kalam and too many other things. I may fall out of words to put down why one should pay their visit to this holy shrine Rameshwaram, let me take you to the experience of places i have been to in Rameshwaram.

Pamban Bridge is the second largest and oldesr bridge in Rameshwaram, a railway bridge which connects the town of Mandapam in mainland India with Pamban Island, and Rameswaram. Well! what do i say about this place, it is jaw-dropping place for sure. Its total feast to eyes looking at the bridge on the crystal blueish water, this can be seen from a parallel motor bridge which one can walk and find sea to either sides. This is the second largest bridge which then adds a bonus to watch a train passing on, also when a ship comes across to pass by the intersection uplifts the bridge.

This scenic place is not just that is processed in your eye but then travels in you and gifts you the inner peace. A walk along the motor bridge amidst the beautiful sea with the train passing by the oldest longest bridge, numerous boats, black and red kites, small village attached in lush green is truly one of the best walks that adds a thrilling pulse through you.

Pariah and Brahminy Kites at Pamban

Pariah as in black kites are often seen in flight together with the other species of Red Kites known as Brahminy Kites can be seen nesting at the pamban beach. While walking on the motor bridge in parallel to pamban bridge i got lucky to see these birds which were then moving with great pace. Well then not good at capturing it i did somehow manage to get something fit in my camera frame.
